The new feature that Wii Sports Resort brings to make it games more complex to control is Wii MotionPlus compatibility, which allows the games to be played with greater accuracy. For example, in Archery, the player holds the Wii Remote vertically to hold the bow and pulls back the Nunchuk to pull back the bow's string. Like the original, the sports are each played by holding the Wii Remote and in some cases, the Nunchuk in a manner similar to the actual sport being replicated. Wii Sports Resort is set in a beach resort on an island called Wuhu Island, a more advanced version of Wii Fit's running island where twelve different sports are available to play.
All thought the archery game was impressive because it felt realistic (including having to adjust for wind), and everyone loved the one called "Frisbee Golf." For families with young children, you might want to skip the swordplay as it has mild cartoon violence. No one ever felt like they couldn't play (although the canoeing was particularly challenging for some) and all of our testers developed their favorites. By waving your controller, you can get your Mii to join other skydivers to make formations. The fun starts when your avatar (called a Mii) jumps from an airplane and parachutes onto Wuhu Island. However, while the controller's motion-sensing is more precise, the games are still easily playable by all. With the MotionPlus, it is now possible to put spin on a bowling ball and to "slice" a table tennis shot.
